5 Reasons We Must Pray Daily

Spiritual Warfare

The Apostle Paul probably dealt with spiritual attacks every day and perhaps this is why he wrote, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil” because “we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Eph 6:10-11), so by all means, be “praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints”(Eph 6:18).

2 Corinthians 9:6-8

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 God Loves a Cheerful Giver. 6.Consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7. Each one should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not out of regret or compulsion. For God loves a cheerful giver. 8. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work…

God loves us; not because we are lovable but because He is love, not because He needs to receive, but because He delights to give.

Luke 6:44-46 A Tree and its Fruit

Luke 6:44-46
A Tree and its Fruit

44 For each tree is known by its own fruit. Indeed, people do not gather figs from thornbushes, or grapes from brambles.

Philippians 2:3

Today's Bible Verse:
Philippians 2:3
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. (NIV)
* Today's Inspiring Thought: Consider Others Better Than Yourself
"The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good." Many people attribute this quote to Samuel Johnson, but there's no evidence of it in his writings. Others give credit to Ann Landers. It doesn't really matter who said it, though, the idea is biblical.
I won't mention names, but I've observed some Christian leaders who ignore the true servants in the body of Christ, while giving extra attention and special treatment to their wealthy, influential, and "famous" brothers and sisters. When I see this happening, it makes me lose all respect for that person as a spiritual leader. Even more, it makes me pray I never fall into that trap.

John Henry Jowett Quote

The laying down of self is the taking up of God. When I lose my will, I gain the Infinite. The moment of surrender is also the moment of conquest. When I consecrate my weakness, I put on strength and majesty like a robe.
~John Henry Jowett~
There Is Joy In The Haven of Rest's photo
Plenty of outward discomforts there may be, and many earthly sorrows and trials, but through them all the soul that knows God cannot but dwell inwardly in a fortress of perfect peace. "Who so hearkeneth unto me," He says, "shall dwell safely; and shall be quiet from fear of evil."
~Hannah Whitall Smith ~

Billy Graham Quote

There Is Joy In The Haven of Rest's photo
Think of it— the JOY, the PEACE, the sense of FORGIVENESS that He gives you, and then heaven too.
~Billy Graham~
